After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I was told I might never work again — and possibly never walk. During that time, I began researching service dogs and quickly realized how inaccessible truly capable dogs are for most people, both financially and practically.
That experience shaped how our program operates today.
Our focus is producing healthy, structurally sound dogs with stable, trainable temperaments — giving each puppy the strongest possible foundation for real-world success, whether as a companion or a working prospect.
Every decision in this program is made with real-world function in mind — not just theory.
As I continued my research, it became clear that the gap wasn’t just in training — it started at the foundation.
Without that foundation, even the best training cannot compensate.
What began as a personal necessity quickly turned into a deeper pursuit: understanding what truly makes a dog capable — not just in theory, but in practice.
Over time, that pursuit evolved into Aurum Purus Goldens — a program built intentionally around producing dogs with the traits that matter most.
This program is built on three core priorities:
– Health and longevity, supported by structured health testing and thoughtful breeding decisions
– Stable, trainable temperament — dogs that can think, adapt, and respond appropriately in real-world environments
– Functional capability, supporting both companionship and potential working roles
As a home-based program, Aurum Purus Goldens emphasizes ethical breeding practices, hands-on development, and intentional raising of each litter.
Puppies are raised in an environment designed to support early exposure, stability, and adaptability — setting the stage for whatever path they may go on to pursue.
While many people come to this program seeking a service prospect, it is important to understand that not every dog is suited for that level of work.
What began as a personal challenge has become a focused, intentional program built around doing things the right way — not the easy way.
Every decision made here is grounded in real-world experience and a commitment to producing dogs that are not only well-bred, but truly capable.
