Bringing your puppy home is an exciting milestone — but it’s also a critical transition period.
At Aurum Purus Goldens, Gotcha’ Day is structured to ensure both you and your puppy are set up for success from the very beginning.
On Gotcha’ Day, we will walk through everything you need to feel confident taking your puppy home.
This includes:
- Reviewing your puppy’s development and early foundation
- Going through health records, vaccinations, and documentation
- Explaining feeding routines and transition guidelines
- Answering any questions specific to your puppy
The goal is not just to hand off a puppy — but to make sure you fully understand what you’re bringing home.
Your puppy has been raised in a structured environment with consistent routines, early exposure, and intentional development.
Because of that, the transition into a new home matters.
We’ll guide you through:
- First-day expectations
- Feeding structure and schedule
- Early training habits already introduced
- How to maintain consistency during the transition
Whenever possible, puppies are picked up in person.
Many of our families travel from out of state, and we work closely with each family to coordinate timing and logistics to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition.
In some cases, we will meet families partway or coordinate a structured handoff to make travel more manageable, depending on location and scheduling.
While some breeders do utilize cargo transport, we do not place our puppies in cargo holds. Their first day home is already a significant transition, and we prioritize keeping that experience as controlled, safe, and low-stress as possible.
If air travel is required, puppies must travel in-cabin with a person, where they can remain in a monitored environment throughout the trip.
For families who are unable to travel themselves, arrangements can be made for a member of Aurum Purus Goldens to accompany the puppy and fly with them to their destination. This option is available at an additional cost and is discussed in detail within the purchase contract.
